Where I’ve Been

The Rebel Planner

I don’t even know where to start with this one.

It’s been almost a year since I’ve last made a post. This all seems foreign to me, so let’s just get into where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing. Because let me tell you, everything has changed since last year.

Let’s begin with the exciting things. My older sister got married to my now brother-in-law. It’s still surreal to type that out. Jessie and Kevin’s love is incredible and aspirational and I’m so thankful that I got to be a part of their ceremony.

I got a new job! I finally have a job in marketing that pays me what I should be making (according to Indeed and like, my bills) and that has opened so many doors for me.

With this new job, I was able to open a savings account and actually sustain it. I was able to refinance my private loans save over $500 a month on that payment. And best of all, I was able to move out!

Yes, I’ve finally moved out on my own. I didn’t think that day would ever come. With the job market the way it is in Rhode Island and my incredible mortgage payment of a student loan bill, I never thought I’d be able to make it on my own. But I’ve done it.

I live in the same town, but I’m much closer to work. Still close to my mom’s house, close to my dad’s apartment and still near all my favorite stores.

But best of all? I’m closer to my boyfriend. That’s right: boyfriend.

Tyler and I have been dating for a year now and I am so thankful that we met. He’s my best friend and the first person I’ve ever felt totally myself with. He took my After Hours Allie weirdness and rolled with it, loves my dogs like their his and has the same strange humor as I do.

But that’s not all! My mental health is in a much better place, I’ve finally made friends in Rhode Island and I my family adopted a new dog – Max.

2019 has been a big year of change and I’m surprised I’m still standing after all the new experiences and people that have been thrown my way.

With all that change, I really didn’t have time for the blog. Or my hobbies. Or time to relax. I’m now learning how to be with myself again and that means getting back into the things that I’m passionate about, including this blog.

Although I no longer use a paper planner (a digital calendar makes so much sense for how hectic my life is), I’m still quite a planner.

I planned my entire move. Tracked finances, where people would help the best, what furniture to buy. I planned my job hunt and how I would attack it. And I even have my next few months planned out. And I’d love to share those processed with you all.

I can’t guarantee that I’ll blog once a week or even once a month, but I’d like to get back into this blog. Even if just one person reads it, that’s enough for me.

Thank you again for always sticking with me. And if I don’t write again, cheers to the next year!
