Between August 13 – 17, I was at an incredibly wonderful space called Camp Gritty (blog post about Camp to come!) One of the nights was a giant dance party, and beforehand we got to get makeup-ready with total sweetheart and talented makeup artist Rosalina Young. You probably know her as ahitsrosa on Instagram and YouTube. She’s been on my favorite makeup artists and inspiration for years (you can see a look I did inspired by her here!), and being able to get ready with her was such a cool experience!
Sugarpill and Melt Cosmetics sponsored the party, and because of that we got to walk away with a pink eyeshadow and a lipstick! I chose Melt Cosmetics Blow as my lipstick and I based my makeup look around that lipstick. Learn how I achieved this look down below!
I only brought Urban Decay palettes with me to camp, so that’s what I used for this look! I mainly used the Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette and the brush that it came with. For the crease, I went in with Mean, a shimmery light green. I applied that pretty heavily. To make the look darker, I applied Hatter, a matte grass green. I also patted that onto the outer corner of my lid. To add a smoky element, I used Hundred. Hundred isn’t super pigmented, so it added a perfect amount of darkness.
For my lid, I wanted something bright, so I used Calavera, a matte sunshine yellow. I blended that into Hatter.
The bottom lash line is where the real party was. I used a green eyeliner as my base and blended Mean and Hatter on top and smudging a bit of Hundred into the outer corner. And what is a dance party (or Camp Gritty) without some glitter? I used my favorite Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Distortion. The iridescent colors look amazing over the greens! For the inner corner I used Iced, a glimmering silver. Of course I needed a bold winged eyeliner.
The best of this look is the lipstick. Melt Cosmetics Blow is an incredibly matte dark green. I had heard that the Melt lipsticks were dry in texture, but this applied smoothly and evenly. I suck at applying bold lipstick straight from the tube, but it was easy with this lipstick.
Most of this look melted off during the dance party, but the lipstick stayed pretty well! The matte, dry texture helps this lipstick last pretty long.
