Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette Review

Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette Review

I’ve been on a Wet n Wild kick, haven’t I? It started with the liquid lipsticks, then to the brand’s newest foundation, and now this eyeshadow palette. I was never into Wet n Wild, but after trying the ombre blushes last year, I’ve fallen head over heels for this brand. When I saw this palette in CVS, my first thought was that it looked like the Urban Decay Naked palette. My second thought was to try it out and review it for you guys! So, without further ado, check out my Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette review down below!

The Au Naturel Palette retails for $6.99 and comes with 10 neutral shades that are great for everyday. Eight out of the 10 shades have shimmer and glitter in them. If you’re looking for a palette with more mattes and satins, this is not the palette for you. The shimmery shades have a ton of shimmer in them, and the glittery shades have glitter fallout to them.

The shades are not numbered, so I’ve swatched five at a time starting from the light colors.

Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette

  1. This is the lightest shade in the palette. I thought this would be great for highlighting, but it’s a tad to dark for my skin tone. If you have a darker complexion, this will be great for you.
  2. The second shade reminds me a lot of Urban Decay’s Sin. This has decent payoff. I like to apply this with a flat shader brush since that picks up the color best.
  3. The third shade is really pigmented! This gold leans more brown than it does yellow.
  4. Another pigmented color.
  5. This fifth color is slightly dark than the fourth color, but has less shimmer.

Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette

  1. The sixth shade in this palette reminds me of Urban Decay’s Sidecar. The color is the same and has the specks of glitter. However, the glitter in this is smaller.
  2. The first matte in this palette is awful. I’ve swatched this the same as the other colors and there is barely any payoff. There is better payoff on the eyes, but just barely. This shade disappointed me a lot.
  3. What’s strange is that the second and final matte color in this palette has astounding pigmentation and blends like a dream. You have to be careful with this one, especially after using the other matte. It’s easy to pick up too much product!
  4. This gray shade has great pigmentation and similar glitter to the sixth shade.
  5. The final shade in this palette is a satin black with silver glitter in it. The glitter isn’t noticeable on the eyes.

Is this a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette like I thought? Yes and no. While the color palette is the same, the pigmentation is not the same. Yes, this is a drugstore palette that retails for $7 while the UD palette sells for more than $50, but Wet n Wild is known for their eyeshadows. The brand’s eyeshadows are super pigmented and blend well. However, this palette is not it. While most of the shades are great, they aren’t spectacular. I was hoping that first matte shade would be a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked, but the lack of pigmentation makes this palette not worth it.

Overall, I think you should skip this palette. Wet n Wild has better palettes with better pigmentation. The trios are supposed to be amazing and some of their best formulas. I would buy one of those before this palette.

The Wet n Wild Au Naturel palette retails for $6.99 and is available on the Wet n Wild website.
