After trying the NYX Total Control Drop foundation and being completely disappointed, I was a little skeptical when I saw YouTubers talk about the Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation with as much fervor. I saw Tati rave on about it, Casey Holmes say that this is her current favorite foundation and a bunch of others praise this foundation. For only $6, there’s no way I could pass on this. Was this foundation as good as the YouTubers say it is? Read my review down below!
The Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation comes in a 1 fl. oz. bottle and retails for $5.99. The foundation comes in 20 different shades. Do you know how insane it is to find a drugstore foundation with that many shades? I know I praised the NYX foundation for having many shades, but that foundation sucked and wasn’t as inexpensive as this one. What was even cooler is that there were multiple shades that could work with my complexion. I chose the lightest color, but the next shades up could have worked for me, too. I love that there are so many shades, especially for the price. I’m not sure if all of the shades were available in store, but there full selection is online.
This foundation doesn’t come with a pump or dropper but rather a little spatula. I would refrain from applying that spatula straight to your face to avoid contamination. Instead I spread some of the foundation on the back of my hand and applied it to my face in blobs.
I started off applying this with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge and got amazing results. I got even medium coverage. Wet n Wild doesn’t give a specific coverage for this foundation, but I got medium right off the bat and was able to build it up. I feel like you could get full coverage if you built it up enough.
This did emphasize some pores when I wore the CoverGirl Out-Last All Day Foundation Primer and no powder, but when I switched to a pore filling primer and set it with powder, my pores were much less noticeable. The wear was really great with powder. While the foundation doesn’t need to be set with powder, the powder helped prevent any creasing and cracking throughout the day. I didn’t notice any oxidizing.
The foundation wore well throughout the day. I only noticed any wear around the 8 or 9 hour mark. This is amazing considering it lasted me a whole work day and then some! When I used powder I got better wear.
Do I recommend this foundation? 100%! I got amazing wear out of this, my skin looks amazing when I wear it and the shade range is phenomenal. And considering this is super affordable, why not try it?
The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation retails for $5.99 and is available at the Wet n Wild website or through Amazon for the same price.

What powder do you use? I’ve tried the makeup forever and LM ones but I haven’t /loved them,
Hi Taylor,
I love the NYX HD pressed powder. It’s smooth and makes my pores disappear! I haven’t tried it, but the KVD one is supposed to be amazing.
