Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick Review

I was perusing CVS (as you do) and checked out the updated Wet n Wild section. Usually I glance by the brand, but after my love for the Color Icon Ombre Blushes, I had to take another chance on the brand. When I saw that the brand released liquid lipsticks, I was skeptical. Most drugstore liquid lipsticks are notorious for not even drying matte. But these were only $4,99 a piece, so I took a chance and bought two of the Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks. Did they live up to the hype? Read my review down below!

The Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks come in 13 shades and retail for $4.99. That’s not bad considering most high-end liquid lipsticks are around $20. The colors range from super nudes to dark reds and browns. There are even fun Barbie pinks and oranges in there! The shade range is amazing, and I hope Wet n Wild expands is or releases limited edition colors in the future.

The packaging is eerily similar to the Jeffree Star and Sugarpill liquid lipstick packaging. In fact, it’s the same thing, just with a black cap! I love how high-end this packaging feels. What I love most is how there is a slight “click” feeling when you close the cap. It lets me know that I closed it all the way and that it’s not going to leak. The wand has a doe foot applicator that has a slight dip that holds onto the product.

The formula on these is more cream-like than liquid. Most of the time cream liquid lipsticks don’t dry completely matte or don’t have lasting power, but these do. The lipstick had a slight tack when it was drying down, but after a minute or so that went away. The color went on a little streaky, but after I let it dry for a bit, I applied more and the color evened out. I like applying a thin layer to avoid dryness and caked-on lipstick, but these have to be layered to get a good effect.

I got about five hours of wear out of these before I noticed any cracking or dryness. After eating I had to apply more, and that made the lipstick thicker.

Left to right: Pink Really Hard, Video Vixen.

Pink Really Hard in the tube looks a bit more nude, but swatched on the skin and the lips it looks more bright. This did go on streaky, but not anything awful.

Video Vixen looks almost brown in the tube, and after looking hard and in the right light, I determined it was a dark, dark red. This went on very streaky, but a second layer fixed that.

Over all, I’m a fan of these! I think for a drugstore lipstick these are a fantastic option. Are they as quality as ones you’ll find at Sephora? No! They’re drugstore! Stop expecting a $5 lipstick from CVS will look as good as a $30 lipstick from Sephora! But for drugstore, these are option. I highly suggest these, and I want to get more colors!
