Rainbow Glitter Drip #NOTD | The Rebel Planner

I was going through some of the pictures in my WordPress media library and realized I never posted this nail art! How crazy is that? I was absolutely in love with this nail art, even though it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted. Want to see how I created this rainbow glitter drip? Read down below!

Creating this nail art was super easy. The only nail art product I used were nail vinyls from Twinkled T. If you haven’t heard of the brand, they create nail vinyl designs that you can use on your nails. You apply a base color, put down the vinyls, apply a second color and remove the vinyl. Then you have nail art that looks like it took you an hour to make!

To start out this nail art I applied two coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather. This is my favorite black nail polish. It’s incredibly opaque, dries fast and doesn’t streak like other dark and black nail polishes do. I let that dry and then applied a thin coat of top coat. You want to apply a top coat underneath nail vinyls to prevent your base color from peeling up. I used Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat. It dries fast and is super shiny!

After that top coat dries (I usually wait around 15 minutes,) I applied the nail vinyls. I like to place them using tweezers. That helps me place them with more precision. I also use the tweezers to take the vinyls off of the vinyl sheet. I like to take the extra tack of the vinyls off on the back of my hand. This makes it so the vinyls are less sticky, which helps prevent the base color from coming up. I also make sure to press the vinyl down onto the nail well. This prevents any gaps is the polish.

Once the vinyls are down, work one nail at a time. This is important! You want to pick up the vinyls immediately after you apply polish otherwise the polish dries and you won’t get a crisp line! I sponged on China Glaze Pizzazz. I sponged on the glitter because this gave me a better concentration of glitter without all the polish goop.

After applying all the glitter, I cleaned up using the Twinkled T #2 Clean Up brush (I mentioned it here in my 2016 favorites!) I finished off the nail art with a thick coat of top coat.

That’s the glitter rainbow drip nail art! What do you think? Let me know down below!
