2016 was a wonderful year for my blog. Not only was it the first full year of blogging, but I got to try out a ton of cool stuff in the name of reviewing it for all of you. Some of things I bought were because I truly wanted them. But most of them were because I knew that you guys would enjoy reading reviews and seeing tutorials using these products.
After looking through my favorites throughout the year, I finally came up with a few select products that I can truly say stood out in 2016. These are the products that surprised me, made my day brighter or made me wonder how I lived without them.
Check out my 2016 year-end favorites down below!
- Fortune Cookie Soap Polyjuice Potion Hair Oil
I bought this oil back in June and even featured it in that month’s favorites. Polyjuice Potion is one of my favorite scents from FCS, so I knew that I had to have it in a hair oil. I drop half a dropper-full of oil into my hand and then scrunch it into completely dried hair. The scent is heavenly and even acts as my perfume for that day. I’m halfway through and already looking forward to ordering another bottle! - L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation
This foundation is overhyped on YouTube for a reason. This foundation makes my skin look flawless, stays on all day and doesn’t oxidize. Plus, it never looks dry. I’ve had this tube for over six months and even after using it everyday, I’m still going strong. Very little product is needed for a flawless face. I can’t see myself using any other foundation because this fulfills everything I want from a foundation. - OPI Rich Girl and Po Boys
This polish came out in the summer collection and I’ve been in love since I bought it. I’ve worn it at least once a month either alone or with some nail art. This polish looks alive on my nails and is so incredibly vibrant. And like most OPIs, it lasts on my nails the longest out of any other brand’s formulas I’ve tried. - Wet n Wild Color Icon Ombre Blush
I reviewed this back in February and it’s been one of my most popular reviews. I own all three shades, but The Princess Daiquiries the most. This pink color is perfect for everyday without looking over or under done. These are pigmented without being too much but yet are completely buildable. If you’re in Target, I suggest picking a shade up. - Twinkled T Clean Up Brush #2
This was one of those “how did I live without this?” products. I used t0 use a concealer brush from ELF that worked just fine, but the brush on this is so small that cleaning my cuticles is a breeze. I no longer get that giant gap between my cuticle and my polish. Plus, this brush has held up far longer than the ELF one did. It was a little expensive for just a brush, but it was completely worth it considering I haven’t had to replace it once. - Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
My friend Kiku convinced me to buy this liner and I’m so glad that she did. The brush tip on this makes it incredibly easy and simple to create my everyday winged liner. The brush tip never runs dry from product, never skips and doesn’t ooze extra product. An added bonus is that I’ve had this for over six months and it’s still going strong.
Honorable mentions:
- GlamGlow FlashMud Brightening Treatment Mask
- Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
- LUSH Softy
And those are my 2016 year-end favorites! 2016 was kind to me in many ways, and trying new makeup, haircare, skincare and nail products was one of them. I’m forever thankful to all who read my blog and genuinely enjoy it. Thank you to everyone who reads it everyday, likes my Facebook posts or even if you only found me through Pinterest or a random Instagram post. I’m grateful that all of you allow me to share with you my love and passion for my hobbies. Thank you for making 2016 special. 2017 is only going to get better.
