After a long time of not wearing makeup on a daily basis, it feels nice to finally wear proper makeup. I’ve been doing basic mascara and foundation for the past month since I haven’t really been anywhere. But now that I’m working full-time and working some seasonal hours, I’m wearing a full face again and I’m enjoying it. For this look I decided to use MAC Captive, a lipstick I featured in my top 5 lipsticks for winter. Find out how I got this look down below!
To start off this look I applied L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. It’s my favorite foundation and all I’ve been wearing this year. I’m honestly surprised my tube hasn’t run out yet. I applied that with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge. I concealed using MAC Studio Finish and Pro Longwear concealers. Then I used Wet n Wild Color Icon Ombre Blush in The Princess Daiquiries. ColourPop Stole the Show is my highlighter.
On Tuesday I got the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette. This was the first look I did with it! I’ll be doing a review on that palette in the future, but I wanted to work with the palette a few times before I did any review. I started out the look with Tempted in the crease. This ended being a little too dark for a transition color so I lightened it up by blending it out with Commando. Next, I placed Instinct in the crease to deepen it up.
I ended up doing an unintentional matte halo eye. Is it possible to do matte halo eyes? Either way, that’s what I ended up doing. I placed Faith on the outer and inner corners of my eyelid. I then used Nude for the “halo” middle. For my lower lash line I used Tempted, Instinct and Lockout. For my eyeliner I used Urban Decay Whiskey 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner. I blended it out using Lockout.
I finished off the eyes by applying two coats of Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara, which I did a review on earlier this week. For my eyebrows I used NYX Micro Brow pencil.
MAC Captive finishes off this look, so I prepped my lips with ColourPop primer. I then applied MAC Captive using a lip brush.
And that’s it for this look! What do you think? This has been one of my favorite looks that I’ve done in a while! I may have to recreate it soon.
