I was cleaning out my makeup stash the past few weeks and took a look at what I was using and what I haven’t touched in years. I got to some items that were easy to toss or giveaway and some were harder. I realized that there were a select few items in my collection that I didn’t know how I would do my makeup without them. Today I thought I would share them with you! While a lot of these will end up in my yearly favorites (or already have,) sometimes it’s nice to revisit those products that always work.
- Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
I’ve had this palette for years and as you can see, the colors are much loved. I’ve hit major pan on Naked 2 and I’m pretty close to hitting pan on Venus and Faint. This palette is perfect for a simple everyday eye look or a great supplement to a larger palette. The shades in here are perfect for my skin tone and are usually the colors I reach for to complete any look. I hope that one day UD comes out with Naked 2 as a single. It’s my perfect eye contouring/transition shade and spending $29 for one color seems crazy to me. - MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
This concealer covers everything flawlessly and doesn’t crease. I’ve used up two bottles and I’m now on my third. A little goes a long way and covers my pimples, spots and dark circles without looking cakey. This is 100% worth the money! - L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation
This foundation has become my absolute favorite. I was debating between buying this one or repurchasing the L’Oreal True Match and I very happy that my mom chose trying the Pro-Matte. Not only does this foundation leave a natural looking matte finish on my skin that never looks caked on, it’s a perfect match to my skin. Most foundations are either too dark or too yellow, and this one matches perfectly. I’m squeezing out the last bits of it I have left before buying a new tube – it’s that good. - NYX Micro Brow Pencil
I used to really love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, but that got expensive real quick. When I found out that NYX had a comparable product, I snatched it up as soon as I could find it in my shade. Since then I’ve gone through multiple pencils and without fail it makes my eyebrows look fuller and precise without looking fake. The Brunette shade matches my hair without looking too warm or too cool. And there are a ton of colors! - Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
To be honest, I never got the hype around this product. I had tried other brush-tipped liquid liner pens that worked well for me and felt no need to go out and buy this one. But once my friend Kiku recommended it, I knew that it had to be something special. I wish I had bought it sooner. While yes, it functions just as well as other liquid liner pens I’ve used before, they never dried as fast, looked as matte or stayed on my lid longer than this one. Plus I’ve had my pen for a while now and it hasn’t come close to drying out or skipping. I hope to get this in brown in the future.
