Like I said in my haul yesterday, I would have a review of the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette for you. This palette isn’t anything new and has been out since November 2015, but the palette is currently on sale for $39 on Urban Decay’s website, Sephora, Macy’s and anywhere else Urban Decay is sold. After finding a gift card while cleaning my room, I thought I would purchase the palette and review it for you guys!
The Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette retailed originally for $58 which is typical of the brand. Each shadow contains 0.04 oz of product. A full-sized Urban Decay eyeshadow contains 0.05 oz of product, so these shadows are just shy of being full-sized. You get 15 shadows where three have been released before and 12 are brand new.
The palette is contained in a similar palette to the blush palette I reviewed a few months back. It’s exact in size, just different colors.
The palette came with a sampler of some of the Gwen Stefani lipsticks also released with this collection. These are also currently on sale.
The swatches will go from left to right in three rows. Words in italics are how Urban Decay describes the color.

Swatches left to right: Blonde, Bathwater, Skimp, Steady, Punk.
Blonde: Pale beige w/pink iridescent shift. It’s definitely really pale. This makes a great brow highlight color. I don’t really see the pink shift though.
Bathwater: Pale beige w/gold pearl. Again, another pale color. This is slightly darker than Blonde. I like this one more for the inner corner. This also looks gorgeous mixed with Blonde for the perfect highlight.
Skimp: Pale nude satin. Enough pale colors already! Again, slightly darker than Blonde and Bathwater but so similar to the rest that it could have been left out and the palette would have been no different.
Steady: Medium rose w/metallic gold shift. Beautiful lid color with a creamy, smooth texture.
Punk: Reddish brown matte. This color reminds me of cherry cola. Really creamy and pigmented.

Swatches left to right: Baby, Anaheim, Stark, Zone, Serious.
Baby: Cool metallic rose. Another nice all over lid color, but I don’t see much a difference between this and Steady.
Anaheim: Light taupe-brown matte. This is a nice deepening crease shade on me or a transition shade on darker skin tones. I like this one! Creamy and pigmented.
Stark: Nude-pink matte. This is a perfect transition shade for me. Light enough to shadow the crease but dark enough where it is noticeable.
Zone: Medium brown matte. A little darker than Anaheim but not by much.
Serious: Smoky gray w/iridescent floating pearl. This is pretty much black. I don’t see any of the floating pearl UD describes. This will be nice for when you want black but don’t want to go that dark.

Swatches left to right: Pop, Harajuku, Danger, 1987, Blackout.
Pop: Pale coral w/iridescent sparkle. This is one of the only true duds in this palette. It’s chunky and not very pigmented.
Harajuku: Metallic blue-pink w/iridescent micro-shimmer. I love that a pink was added to the palette as an homage to Gwen’s pink hair. This is pale enough for neutral lovers to experiment with, but I was hoping it would be deep and saturated like Gwen’s hair was.
Danger: Deep metallic royal blue w/blue micro-sparkle. Holy pigmentation. This color is intense! This would be perfect for a smokey eye.
1987: Bright metallic yellow-gold. Perfect yellow gold. Really pigmented and beautiful. It reminds me of the gold on the packaging!
Blackout: Blackest black matte. Exactly what is says. It’s the brand’s darkest black ever. Smooth and pigmented.
Overall, this is a nice neutral palette. I can see someone who loves neutrals on a daily basis to get a ton of use out of the palette. But I can see why it didn’t really sell well. The colors are all kind of the same and aren’t dark enough for those with dark tones. This is definitely a palette made with Gwen’s skin tone in mind, and I guess that’s why I like it so much too. But anyone darker than a medium-dark skin tone may have a hard time finding any colors in here that are pigmented enough to create a neutral, everyday eye.
