May Empties

May Empties | The Rebel Planner

Another month, another empties. This one wasn’t too exciting, but I got through some products I’ve been holding onto for a long time. Let’s check them out!

  1. T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel:
I didn’t use this for my face but rather for my makeup brush cleaning solution. In between thorough washes, I spray my brushes with a mixture of rubbing alcohol, witch hazel and water. It disinfects my brushes while slightly cleaning them. This bottle took me four years to get through! I’ll be buying it again for my solution soon. If you’d like the recipe for my cleaner, let me know down below!
  2. Cotton rounds:
Nothing exciting. I use these to remove my eye makeup and remove my nail polish.
  3. Maybelline The Rocket Mascara:
This used to be one of my favorites but I stopped using it for a while. I tried it again a month ago and while I liked how thick my lashes got, it didn’t provide much length. My tube was also defected. The stopper in the tube that controls how much mascara come out was bent. I think that’s why this tube dried up so quickly. Good mascara, but not for my needs.
  4. Fortune Cookie Soap Disco Tree Whipped Cream:
This sample came in my spring Fortune Cookie Soap box. These little samples usually last me 2-4 full body applications. I love the smell of this! Whipped Creams are my favorite body moisturizers. They’re super thick and last all day.
  5. Neutrogena Deep Wrinkle Anti-Wrinkle Moisture Night:
My dermatologist gave me a bunch of samples of this retinol cream to use on my face. I mix a small amount in with my nightly moisturizer to help reduce the milia and clogged pores on my face. One sample lasts me a while since I only use it once or twice a week.
  6. Beauty Secrets Acetone Nail Polish Remover:
I finished up my beloved Zoya Remove+ nail polish remover but didn’t have $10 to buy a new bottle, so I opted for this Sally Beauty remover. I poured this into the empty Zoya bottle. I like the smell a lot more than the Remove+, but I think the Remove+ is just slightly more effective at removing my polish quicker and without drying my nail. This was nice to try, but I’m going to stick with Zoya.

  1. MAC Select Cover-up Concealer:
I was using this concealer to use it up and I finally did! It was nice for blemishes and to clean up the lip line, but it was too drying for the under eye. I’m glad I used it up though! It was probably four years old at that point.
