Flamethrower #FOTD | The Rebel Planner

It’s been a while since I’ve done a #FOTD, hasn’t it? Well today I’m here to share one of my favorite looks in a while. This look was created using the Urban Decay Vice 4 palette (I have a review if you want to read it!) and I love the main orange color I used called Flame. I’ve never done a orange and green look before but I like the contrast between the two colors!

IFlamethrower #FOTD | The Rebel Planner started out with a primer and applied that all over the lid and on my lower lash line. Next I took Framed and applied that into my crease as my transition shade. I tried to concentrate the majority of it into my outer corner. I then applied Bitter using a MAC 217 and blended that out. I wanted most of it to be at that outer corner to add a bit of a smokey element.

For the lid I applied Flame with a flat concealer brush. I rubbed the center a bit to make the gold sparkle stand out a bit more.

I then applied my wing. I wanted something short but thick.

The lower lash line is where the fun pop of color came in. I applied Grasshopper using a short smudger brush and applied that from outer corner to inner corner. The reason I did that is that I want most of the color on the outer corner and want it to fade out by the time I got to the inner corner. For added shading, I lightly added Deadbeat to the outer corner. This helped connect the wing to the lower lash line.

For my inner corner highlight, I applied MAC Blanc Type. I didn’t want something too shimmery because it would compete with Flame too much. I wanted that to be the sparkly center of attention! I also applied Blanc Type to my brow bone to help blend out Bitter. But to make the brow bone shimmery, I applied Makeup Geek Ice Queen.

For blush I used Wet n Wild Mai Tai Buy You a Drink (you can see my swatch here.) For highlight I used MAC Lightscapade. I didn’t want to use a too shimmery of a highlight because I wanted the focus to be on my eyes and not my skin. Lightscapade is shimmery, but not like I’m trying to signal life from space from the light reflecting off of my cheekbones.

My lips were a mixture of MAC Domestic Diva and Buxom Katie. I originally used Katie, but I wanted more color so I mixed in Domestic Diva to give a slight fuchsia color.

This look was so much fun to create and I’m looking forward to playing with Flame and Grasshopper for the summer. They’re so bright and fun! I was thinking of trying one of my favorite color combinations using Flame: orange and blue. I love the way peachy-oranges and bright blues look together.
