It’s feels like it’s been forever since I’ve done an overview of what’s in my Erin Condren Life Planner. Last week was incredibly busy and filled with joyous times, exciting things for my college and also immense loss and heartbreak for the community. See how I planned out this week after the jump!
This week started out with a heartbreak: a student at my school had passed away. While I won’t go into detail, it was extremely hard for me to get through Monday. My heart ached for the family and friends. But on a more personal note, that meant that the Ionian had to rush to get a story completed by the Wednesday print deadline. It was a struggle, but I think all of us did a great job at getting everything together at such a last minute. I think the article did the student justice.
Monday was exciting because a friend and I got to go to a taping of the Daily Show! Living near New York City has its perks, and seeing Trevor Noah live is one of them. He was hilarious live and the food near the studio where we at was delicious. Overall, good day.
The rest of the week went, but on Tuesday it was announced that Gov. John Kasich would be speaking at my school as part of his campaign for president. While it was not Iona affiliated, it was more than exciting to have a presidential candidate come speak at my college. What was even cooler was that on Friday, my political science professor invited me to a panel/focus group after Kasich spoke to discuss his speech. And it would be aired on TV! My biggest reaction to that was knowing that my professor thinks I’m smart enough to comment on politics. Being on TV was only an added bonus.
What I love most about this spread is the quote I chose. It’s by BMO from the cartoon Adventure Time. I think it sums up how I felt about the loss of the student and the week to come. I’ve been enjoying putting quotes into my planner, and if you have any inspirational quotes that you turn to, please share them with me! I would love to put them in future spreads.
