As I’ve said before, nail oil is the key to nail health. If you want strong and long nails that don’t peel, you need to soak your nails in a high-quality nail oil daily. For a while I had been using the SweetBabybyDonna nail oil, but since I ran out and Bliss Kiss was having their biannual sale, I decided to pick up a starter kit to try out the brand’s famous nail oil. Check out my Bliss Kiss Simply Pure Nail Oil review down below!
As I mentioned above, I bought the Simply Pure Starter Kit ($20.79) which includes a 2mL pen and a 15mL refill bottle. I got the vanilla scent, but it is a limited edition scent that may not be around forever. It’s a subtle vanilla scent that doesn’t smell artificial. The smell dissipates after a few minutes.
Here is what Bliss Kiss claims their nail oil will do for your nails:
After 5 days of rubbing my Simply Pure™ Nail and Cuticle Oil into my nails and cuticles several times a day, I could feel that my nails were stronger and more flexible.
After 120 days, my nails were longer than they had ever been in my life! And I was still doing everything that I usually did with a hectic household of four children—washing and drying laundry, hauling Costco groceries into the minivan and then into the kitchen, cooking, doing dishes, etc.
As an added benefit I noticed smoother, younger looking skin, hydrated cuticles that no longer cracked, and my hangnails disappeared!
I agree: Simply Pure does all of this and more for my nails. They are stronger and more flexible. My nails grow longer than they ever have before and my cuticles look softer and aren’t as dry.
However, five days of constant application won’t strengthen your nails. While I’ve only been using Simply Pure for two weeks now, I was using a different nail oil with very similar ingredients for about nine months. It took me about three months to see a real difference in the way my nails looked and felt. While I immediately had smoother and softer skin around my cuticles, the stronger and more flexible part took a while as my nails fully grew out from where I started. Once it had been three months, that’s when I saw stronger nails that didn’t peel. If you want those strong, long nails, you have to keep oiling them every day for at least three months (or 120 days as the brand proclaims.)
As for the oil itself, it sinks in quickly which I highly enjoy. Some other cuticle oils left my nails greasy for hours. I find this oil sinks in within 10 minutes or less. It’s easy to apply and apply the correct amount from the pen applicator. I use about 3-5 clicks per hand and apply it around my cuticles as well as under my nails. I let it soak for about 30 seconds before I rub it in. I apply oil every time that my nails come in contact with water or rubbing alcohol, like when I use hand sanitizer. The pen has never leaked oil in my bag while I travel.
There are only eight ingredients in Simply Pure:
- Jojoba Wax Ester
- Grape Seed Oil
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Olive Squalane
- Vitamin E Oil
- Vitamin A Oil
- Essential Oil Blend
- Tea Tree Oil
What I appreciate is that almond oil is missing. I have a slight sensitivity for almonds and other types of nuts, and I was wondering why other oils that contained almond oil were making my nails break. It’s because I have a allergy to almonds! Turns out the creator of this oil has an allergy too, which is why Simply Pure is made without almond oil.
The brand claims that Jojoba Wax Ester is what makes this oil special and I have to agree. Other oils that don’t contain Jojoba don’t do much for my nails besides making them soft. I’m guessing it’s the Jojoba that makes nails stronger, longer and more flexible. And I’m right! (You can read more about what Jojoba does for your nails here.)
As for my results? You can see them above. This was taken about 15 minutes after applying the oil. My index finger has never been that long without breaking immediately. The skin around my nails are less wrinkly and my cuticles are soft and tight.
So how do I feel about Bliss Kiss Simply Pure nail oil? I recommend it 100%. I’ve seen such a dramatic difference after using nail oil for nine months and the fact that this one smells delectable and sinks in quickly makes it that much better. The price is a little high but it is completely worth it. From now on I’ll be using Bliss Kiss as my main brand for nail oil.
