After wearing my 15 minute library makeup look, I realized I wanted to jazz it up a little bit. It was feeling a bit neutral and I wanted some more color – hopefully to make studying for finals less boring and headache inducing. After adding purple eyeliner, it wasn’t enough. So of course glitter was the natural answer! This ended up looking so eye-catching and colorful that I wore it three times in a row. Check out how I achieved it down below.
I followed every step in my 15 minute library makeup tutorial, but this time used a purple eyeliner to amp it up. I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Ransom. Unfortunately, this was discontinued, but any iridescent eyeliner would work. Blue, green or even gold would work with the glitter. Asphyxia from Urban Decay is similar. I also smudged it out under my lower lash line.
Next, with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Distortion, I applied a thick layer just to the roots of the eyeliner. I then speckled a few dots towards the edge of the smudged out liner with whatever was left on the brush. Over the purple, it started to flash different colors. What I love most about this eyeliner is that it looks differently depending on what you layer it over. This time, it flashed green, yellow, blue and purple. I love how it attracts light to my eyes. It looks like my eyeliner is glowing!
I want to try this over Junkie, also from Urban Decay. The green/blue duochrome in Junkie would make the glitter look even better.
Do you think wearing glitter in the daytime is appropriate? Let me know down below!
