The Friday after Thanksgiving is the day when my family brews some hot chocolate, plays Frank Sinatra and decorates the house for Christmas. Christmas and the holiday season is my favorite time of the year, so I decided my nails needed to get into the spirit as well with OPI Simmer and Shimmer nail polish.
This glitter-bomb of a blue glitter nail polish feels icy and cold – a perfect match for how I feel when I step outside in the winter! Besides being filled with icy blue glitter, speckles of gold, green and orange pop out as well, making this glitter a little more special.
Unfortunately, this nail polish is a little hard to find and expensive since it came out for the holiday in 2010. Although my bottle is really old, it hasn’t thickened up over time. It still applies the same way it did in 2010. It’s a very thick polish but it applied easily. The glitter stays where I apply it and was opaque in two coats. I needed two coats of Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat to even out the gritty texture the glitter leaves.
I’m hoping to do more Christmas and holiday nail art before the season is over.
What is your favorite go-to holiday nail polish?
